On February 16, the peak of rejection was reached with 81.7% of negative mentions, reflecting a deterioration in the public image of President Milei compared to previous data.
During a recent period, 76.1% of mentions about the president were negative, while only 23.9% expressed a favorable opinion. The consulting firm suggests that this percentage may be influenced by the impact of inflation, the latest data of which was announced on February 13 and was well received by public opinion.
The episode, known as 'Criptogate', represented the highest level of disapproval of the government on social media, reaching its peak on February 16 with 81.7% of negative mentions. The analysis by Synopsis indicates a marked deterioration in the perception of the government compared to previous events since the president's assumption of office in February 2024.
The scandal arose from the promotion of the cryptocurrency $Libra, generating the largest volume of criticism towards Javier Milei. Between February 14 and 16, 2,010,655 criticisms and rejections were recorded on social media, out of a total of 121,325,118 mentions globally.
The Synopsis study analyzed platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Reddit, as well as digital media, forums, and reviews, revealing a considerably negative impact on the public perception of the government.
