Presidential Spokesman Defends Cryptocurrency Move

The presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, stated this morning that the case of the cryptocurrency $Libra "does not harm the Government" and warned that those from the opposition who "want to take advantage will not be able to" because "for us there is no crime." The official ensured that "nothing happened here" and maintained that for the Government, "there is no crime" in the promotion made by President Javier Milei of $Libra, highlighting that these are "operations that are a classic" in Argentine politics.

In an interview on the news channel A24, Adorni labeled those calling for Milei's impeachment as "a bunch of criminals" and focused his criticism on Kirchnerism. He referred to the Deputy group, Unión por la Patria, which announced that it will push for the impeachment, and labeled them as "a bunch of shameless people." He also accused Kirchnerism of being part of "the helicopter club," alluding to a supposed early exit of Milei from the presidency.

Regarding the possibility of impeachment, Adorni said that "that will not happen" and ironically recommended to those pushing for it to "keep playing with the impeachment and the helicopter because the President's honesty is unquestionable." He assured that Milei's image before the public opinion has not changed "at all."

Additionally, Adorni defended Milei's actions regarding the $Libra case and the post he published on a social media platform minutes after the cryptocurrency was launched. Although he acknowledged that there were issues that need to be addressed, he emphasized that the President acted in good faith and that there were no mistakes until the chaos occurred on social media.

In relation to the project called "Clean Sheet," Adorni expressed his desire for Congress to definitively pass it. He acknowledged that if approved, Kirchnerism would be left without a candidate. Regarding the $Libra case, he stated that the best thing is for Justice to investigate and expressed his indifference to a possible decline in the Government's image due to the allegations, mentioning that they are aware of what society thinks and are pleased with the recognition they receive.
