The entrepreneur Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, has made a public complaint about alleged bribery requests from individuals close to President Javier Milei in exchange for facilitating a meeting with the president and ensuring that 'magical things happen.' These events reportedly took place during the Tech Forum in October of last year.
Hoskinson also mentioned that the president created a Research Task Unit (UTI) with the aim of investigating the launch of $LIBRA and determining if there was any illicit behavior in the process. So far, there has been no official response to Hoskinson's complaint, but it is expected that the Justice will analyze its content as part of ongoing investigations.
Regarding this matter, the Casa Rosada has stated that President Javier Milei's commitment is to reach the ultimate consequences to ensure transparency. It was mentioned that the alerts about the individuals involved in this matter were properly presented to the corresponding authorities.
The complaint, disseminated by journalist Camila Dolabjian from Radio Rivadavia, raises suspicions about the intermediaries who managed the contact between crypto entrepreneurs and the Argentine government. These events could be decisive for the investigation instructed by Milei, who had already requested the Anti-Corruption Office (OA) to analyze the role of officials and entrepreneurs in the development of the KIP Protocol project.
Thus, the scandal surrounding the $LIBRA cryptocurrency project adds a new chapter, while the Justice and relevant authorities are expected to thoroughly investigate the accusations presented by Charles Hoskinson.
