The mother of Nahuel Gallo, an Argentine gendarme detained in Venezuela for 69 days, made a call to the national government to intervene and secure her son's release. Griselda Heredia expressed her powerlessness at not being able to travel to the Caribbean country due to fear of also being imprisoned. Nahuel Gallo was arrested on December 8, 2024, accused of conspiracy by the Nicolás Maduro government while visiting his seven-month-old son in Venezuela.

"I am scared for my son's life. I ask the government to do something to free my son and for him to return to Argentina," Heredia declared in television media. She described Gallo's situation as inhumane and heartbreaking, pleading for desperate help for his release and return home. Heredia also urged Cristina Kirchner to intervene, despite not currently holding any public office, recalling her past relationship with the Bolivarian government.

"Listen to a mother. He is innocent. What they say is a lie. Every day is torture for us," Heredia expressed, highlighting the anguish that the situation is causing her family. The pleas from Nahuel Gallo's mother underscore the difficult situation her son faces in detention in Venezuela and the urgency for solutions for his release.
