Argentina Increases Salaries for Security Forces by 5%

The National Government has announced a 5% increase in the salaries of the Security Forces, which will come into effect from March. Resolution 176/2025 published in the Official Bulletin applies to all Federal Security Forces. This additional increase has been justified as a recognition of the effort and sacrifice of personnel in national defense, as well as a measure to enhance and strengthen those who dedicate their lives to this work.

According to the resolution, the National Gendarmerie will reflect the update of its earnings for the "Neighborhood Prevention Functions" and the "Service Charge." On the other hand, the Naval Prefecture will receive the increase for "Service Charge," and the Federal Police for the "Additional Police Service" and other benefits. The directors of these forces will receive supplements for hierarchical responsibility, while the Airport Security Police will receive a supplement for the "Service Charge."

From the Ministry of Security, led by Patricia Bullrich, it is argued that these increases align with the paradigm shift in security, where the life, freedom, and property of individuals are fundamental. This salary update arises from demands from the sector that questioned the low salaries. It is emphasized that the aim is to recognize the dedication and responsibility of the members of the Federal Security Forces.

Efforts have been made to recognize the hierarchy concerning the responsibilities of members of the Security Forces. With the aim of promoting the well-being of the personnel, their professionalization and development, it has been decided to implement a salary increase of 5% above the salary guideline. This increase will be applied in two stages, one in March and another in June, and aims to equalize the earnings of the Federal Penitentiary Service with those of the other federal forces.
