La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and its allies managed to obtain a majority report on their electoral reform proposal in the plenary of the Constitutional Affairs, Justice, and Budget committees of the Chamber of Deputies. During the session, controversies arose, as pointed out by Lilia Lemoine in a message that went viral, involving Bertie Benegas Lynch.
In a mocking gesture, Lemoine criticized her colleague's stance, highlighting that while political reform is being debated, some politicians divert attention to other issues, such as the recent Federal LGBT March, ironically referred to as the 'anti-Milei gay pride march' by them.
The electoral reform proposal garnered support from the PRO, the UCR, and governors from Córdoba, Santiago del Estero, and Catamarca. This backing allowed them to achieve a majority report, despite Lilia Lemoine's criticisms of Bertie Benegas Lynch for alleged ironic reactions during presentations by leftist legislators.
The full committees also focused on the suspension of the Open, Simultaneous, and Mandatory Primaries (PASO). With 58 signatures, the ruling party secured the necessary support to debate the suspension of the PASO next Thursday, marking a new episode of political tensions in the legislative arena.
