Defense Minister Luis Petri defended President Javier Milei against criticism received after his speech at the Davos Forum, stating that 'gender violence also affects men.' In this regard, Petri pointed out that during Alberto Fernández's government, femicides increased, a fact that, according to him, current protesters do not address.
He emphasized that 'the libertarian project is based on respect for each person’s individual project' and highlighted that Milei's speech at Davos included criticisms of radicalized gender ideology. Additionally, Petri mentioned that '70% of homicides in Argentina have male victims,' stressing the importance of recognizing that the majority of murder victims in the country are male.
In statements to the program 'Pan y Circo,' hosted by Jonatan Viale on Radio Rivadavia, the Defense Minister underlined the need to address the issue of gender violence from a perspective that includes all genders and acknowledged Milei's concern about the radicalization of gender ideology in society. Petri's stance emphasizes the importance of analyzing and combating gender violence from a comprehensive approach that considers all affected individuals, regardless of gender.
