The renowned theater director and actor, Pepe Cibrián, criticized the position of the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, and his controversial statements about sexual diversity in an interview on the program "The Fun is Over." Cibrián expressed that he does not feel represented by Milei and condemned his remarks against homosexuals and those who think differently than he does.
Regarding the statements Milei made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, linking sexual diversity with pedophilia, Cibrián harshly questioned the politician, highlighting the irresponsibility in his words and the importance of debating and voting on such decisions in Congress. He also pointed out that the repeal of laws is not as simple as it is presented.
The theater director also mentioned that the president's discourse does not align with reality, as most sexual abuse is committed by heterosexual people within the family sphere. He also criticized the lack of national productions in Argentine musical theater and the preference for bringing in foreign productions.
Regarding Lali Espósito's participation in criticizing Milei, Cibrián praised the courage of the singer and other popular figures who raised their voices against the president's claims. Cibrián, who has been married to his partner Ezequiel for a year, defended the right to adoption and rejected Milei's threats to eliminate laws related to diversity and feminism.
In relation to his personal life, Cibrián shared that he is going through a good sentimental moment and expressed his support for rights protected by international treaties and the Constitution. He also emphasized the importance of promoting national talent in the theater industry and questioned the trend of hiring influencers instead of trained actors.
Finally, Pepe Cibrián revealed details about his upcoming theater project, inviting the program hosts to attend the premiere of "Caligula" in April.
