Senators Propose Changes for Waterway Bidding

A group of senators from the Civic Radical Union (UCR) sent a letter to the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, with a series of requests for the government to consider in the bidding process for the waterway, an issue that has reached justice due to alleged irregularities.

According to the text submitted to Francos, the provincial representatives request that a series of proposals be considered, based on available technical analyses and recommendations from experts, in the bidding process. Among the points they suggest revisiting are the fragmentation of the concession, the review of deadlines, the selection of priority routes, tariff transparency, and the implementation of modern technologies.

In dialogue with the Argentine News Agency, one of its signers, the head of the Senate bloc, Eduardo Vischi (Corrientes), said: "This is a constructive contribution so that the new concession contract includes measures that promote transparency, environmental care, competition, and greater efficiency, both operationally and economically."

"A good use of the waterway is essential not only for Corrientes and the Litoral region but also for Argentina's aspirations to open up to the world and make its exports more competitive," he concluded. The letter was also signed by Stella Maris Olalla (Corrientes), Carolina Losada, and Eduardo Galaretto, both from Santa Fe.
