Two motorcycle thieves were arrested twice in one week for various robberies in the City of Buenos Aires. The criminals, aged 18 and 31, were captured for the second time on Wednesday night in the Caballito neighborhood after an attempted robbery.
Authorities confirmed that both individuals have prior records for robberies under the motorcycle thief modality. The case is being handled by Criminal and Correctional Court No. 46, led by prosecutor Anselmo Santos. The police report details that the incident occurred when officers from the 6th Community Brigade observed a black motorcycle occupied by two men who matched the characteristics of multiple previous complaints.
They always wore black clothing and helmets of the same color. When attempting to evade the traffic control, the suspects collided with a police vehicle while trying to escape and were arrested at the intersection of Avenida José María Moreno and Rosario.
At the time of their arrest, agents from the City Police found among their belongings two glass-cutting pencils, used to break windows, and a pair of anti-cut gloves, the same items that were seized during their previous arrest. On the first occasion, the individuals were riding a black Suzuki motorcycle and were chased until Avenida San Juan, where they were captured.
"According to the records, they were arrested on Friday the 24th at 10:30 PM and released on Monday the 27th at night. 48 hours later, on Wednesday the 29th at night, they were arrested again for the same crime, also in Caballito," authorities reported.
