The apartment of the plastic surgeon and pilot accused of kidnapping and prostituting his girlfriend in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo was raided as part of a human trafficking and drug supply case. The news broke on Monday afternoon after a 34-year-old woman jumped semi-naked from her boyfriend's apartment balcony to escape, claiming she was being forced into prostitution.
Police sources reported that a group of neighbors detained the pilot, the victim's partner, who was accused of holding her against her will, drugging her, and sexually exploiting her. The woman and the man had been in a relationship for five years and were from the province of San Juan. Following the woman's fall, the man was arrested, and it is expected that the victim will provide a statement once she fully recovers.
Surgeon Fabián Peláez, detained in connection with the case, testified before the prosecutor and the judge, denying that he had kidnapped his girlfriend and claiming that she jumped from the balcony voluntarily after engaging in sexual relations and consuming drugs in the apartment. Peláez handed over his cellphone and will remain in custody until his legal situation is resolved.
