The strong displays of disdain expressed by President Milei in Davos have been regarded as a true offense to all Argentinians. These statements, previously accompanied by threats against those who think differently from the President, once again highlight the authoritarian and intolerant nature of the national government.
Legislators from Unión por la Patria (UxP) have criticized President Javier Milei's speech in Davos, labeling it as an offense to all Argentinians. In an official statement, they expressed their rejection not only of the President's words at the World Economic Forum but also of the institutional violence that, according to them, La Libertad Avanza (LLA) exerts due to the authoritarian and intolerant character that they believe emanates from the National Government.
"We reject the expressions of hate from the President. We express our strongest rejection," they declared. They lamented that violent speeches are being spread by the highest authority in the country, further supported by other officials from the so-called 'dialoguing opposition' (LLA, MID, PRO, and a faction of the UCR) who, according to the legislators, go against the historical tradition of Buenos Aires City of being open, plural, and egalitarian.
From the UxP Bloc of Legislators, they committed to continue working to strengthen gender policies, expand rights, and defend existing laws that reject discrimination and hate speech.
