The ruling party, with 39 votes from La Libertad Avanza (LLA), will seek to secure support from other blocs and negotiate with PRO, UCR, Encuentro Federal, and Innovación Federal, which have divided positions. The Government aims to abolish the PASO due to its high cost, estimated at 150 million dollars, although it faces opposition from some sectors.
Guillermo Francos, Chief of Staff, argues that if a majority to eliminate the PASO is not achieved, the suspension for the legislative elections could be considered. Negotiations between LLA and the dialoguing blocs will continue to seek consensus on the elimination of the PASO.
Leaders from other parties such as UCR, PRO, Encuentro Federal, and Innovación Federal will be invited to discuss the issue. The Government has shown flexibility by considering suspension as a viable option if a complete agreement for the elimination of the PASO is not reached.
Ezequiel Atauche, president of LLA's senators' bloc, indicates that they could support a temporary suspension of the PASO if agreements are not reached. The meeting will be held in the Chamber of Deputies, with the participation of authorities and leaders from different parties.
