The case against Germán and Sebastián Kiczka, who are accused of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, has been elevated to trial following the announcement by Instruction Judge No. 4 Miguel Ángel Faría. The Kiczka brothers have been detained since August of last year after being fugitives from justice for several days. Germán was found in Corrientes, while Sebastián, who also faces charges in a separate abuse case, was captured in Misiones.
Since August of last year, both brothers have been under arrest at the Cerro Azul penitentiary. They are accused of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, and Sebastián faces additional charges for a sexual abuse case. The investigation was elevated to trial without objections from either party, and the scheduling of the judicial debate is now awaited.
The detention of the Kiczka brothers came after an extensive international investigation known as "Digital Guardians of Childhood," which revealed a human trafficking network in several countries, including Argentina. After months of investigation, it was discovered that the former deputy from Misiones and his brother were involved in the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
603 files of a sexual nature were found on Germán's computer, and there were reports of 913 additional files on devices seized during the raids. In September 2024, the provincial legislature proceeded to expel Germán from his position as a deputy in the Activar party "due to the aberrant acts involving his criminal conduct."
