The Federal Criminal and Correctional Court 11, under the responsibility of Julián Ercolini, has ordered the prosecution for aggravated culpable mischief of six railway workers due to the train collision on the San Martín line on May 10. The accident occurred at the intersection of Figueroa Alcorta and Dorrego avenues in Palermo, where a passenger train collided with another empty train, causing the latter to derail. Although no fatalities were reported, 61 people were injured, two seriously.
The prosecuted individuals, including signalers, machinists, and assistants, were identified as Nahuel Alejandro Morales, Mariano Ignacio Filangieri, Damián Bartoletti Renzi, Leandro Martínez, Javier Armando Silvero, and Alfredo Fernando Gómez. Additionally, preventive measures in the form of asset freezes were imposed on them.
On the other hand, it was decided to dismiss the charges against Jorge Luis Oliva, Sabrina Joao, Christian Adrián Guevara, Gonzalo Sebastián Krenz, Emmanuel Martín Villafañe Arieta, and Alejandro Goldfarb, who were related to the case. The judiciary determined that the accident was the result of a "convergence of reckless behaviors" by the workers, leading to the collision of the trains.
