Jorge Lanata Faces New Health Challenges

Journalist Jorge Lanata, who has been hospitalized at the Italian Hospital for five months, was to be transferred to a neurorehabilitation center to continue his treatment. However, this procedure was delayed this week due to the lack of clinical provisions in the available centers.

Although the transfer was expected to take place between today and Thursday, the possibility of relocating Lanata to the Italian Hospital has been raised, taking with him the physiatrists and personnel necessary for his recovery. Additionally, it has been reported that the journalist will have to undergo a fifth surgery, this time related to his enteral feeding, and not linked to his previous abdominal surgeries.

The neurorehabilitation center that was being considered for Lanata's transfer, Fleni, alerted that it does not have the necessary clinical conditions to receive the communicator. Therefore, other options are being evaluated to carry out the transfer process and continue his treatment.

The new procedure planned for Lanata is a gastrostomy, which consists of administering nutrients through the digestive system to patients who cannot feed themselves. This intervention was scheduled to take place between Friday and Saturday, but has been postponed due to logistical issues, so other alternative care centers are being considered to ensure the continuity of his treatment.
