The Ministry of Health of the Nation and the health authorities of 22 provinces today issued a joint communiqué in defense of the National Vaccination Calendar. In it, they reaffirmed the safety, efficacy, and necessity of vaccines in the face of the advance of denialist discourse. According to the official text, to which the Argentine News Agency (NA) had access, the vaccines on the calendar “have decades of safe use, are backed by solid scientific evidence, and have demonstrated their ability to prevent serious diseases and avoid millions of deaths.” The document also stated that each new dose underwent “rigorous evaluations” to guarantee its quality, safety, and effectiveness, controls that are maintained permanently. The message emphasized that vaccination is an “indispensable” health policy and a shared responsibility between the Nation, in charge of acquisition and distribution, as well as the provinces and municipalities, responsible for its implementation: “The commitment is common, because protecting children is the priority.” The statement was signed by the Health Ministers of all jurisdictions, with the exception of Buenos Aires and Formosa, and ratifies a federal positioning amid falling vaccination coverage and an increase in disinformation messages on social networks. The publication was also disseminated on the X network by national and provincial officials as part of a coordinated strategy to reinforce public trust in the National Calendar and sustain free and mandatory vaccination throughout the country.
