The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued recommendations in light of the heavy rains forecasted in elevated areas. It is advised to avoid outdoor activities, not to take out the trash, remove objects that may obstruct water flow, stay away from coastal areas, and stay informed about authorities' guidelines.
In various regions of the country, the SMN has issued alerts for intense rains. Today, a yellow alert is in effect for the mountain range of the province of Santa Cruz. According to the official report, moderate to heavy rains are expected with an estimated accumulation of 20 to 30 mm, which may exceed these values at times.
It is important to have an emergency backpack prepared with a flashlight, radio, documents, and phone at all times for any eventuality. The SMN will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as necessary.
