In the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Constitución, a bus from line 97 was engulfed in flames, according to police sources reported to the Argentine News Agency. The fire spread widely, which prompted the intervention of the City Firefighters and the Special Federal Rescue Brigade (BEFER), who managed to control the flames at the intersection of Lima and Juan de Garay streets.
Fortunately, all passengers were able to evacuate the vehicle before the fire spread, and no fatalities or injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the thick columns of smoke generated by the incident were visible several kilometers away.
"The fire was controlled using two lines of 38 millimeter hoses," detailed the police report accessed by the aforementioned news agency. Traffic in the area was interrupted until the firefighters were able to fully extinguish the fire in the bus.
