
A 13-year-old Argentine teenager, residing in the province of Córdoba, lost her life in a tragic head-on collision in Brazil while returning from vacation with her family. Emilia Iglesias passed away in the accident. "Today our hearts ache as we say goodbye to Emilia Iglesias, our dear player and member of the club. We accompany her loved ones with deep sorrow and hope that God gives them strength in this very difficult moment. Fly high little one, we will remember you forever," expressed Atlético Barrio Parque Club, where the young girl practiced hockey.
The incident occurred at kilometer 490 of route BR 290. Emilia was traveling with her parents and brother when the vehicle they were in collided head-on with another car. In the accident, in addition to the teenager, two Brazilian citizens in the other car lost their lives. The Argentines were taken to Rosario do Sul hospital, where Emilia Iglesias' death was confirmed. Her parents, aged 44, and her 10-year-old younger brother are hospitalized with fractures and multiple trauma.
Atlético Barrio Parque Club mourned Emilia's loss and said goodbye to her on social media. "Rest in peace Emi," they posted after learning the tragic news.
