The National Meteorological Service issued recommendations due to the expectation of heavy rain in the higher areas of the mountainous region. It is advised to avoid outdoor activities, not to take out the garbage, to remove objects that may obstruct water drainage, to stay away from coastal and riverside areas, and to stay informed by the authorities.
In various parts of the country, bad weather is forecasted for the long weekend, which has led the NM to alert about the presence of heavy rains in different locations. This Monday, a yellow alert has been established for the areas of the Santa Cruz mountain range and Tierra del Fuego.
According to the NM report, in the areas with a yellow alert, "persistent and locally intense rains" are expected, with cumulative precipitation values estimated between 10 and 20 mm, which may be exceeded in some areas. It is recommended to prepare an emergency backpack with a flashlight, radio, important documents, and phone in case it is necessary.
