The Minister of Health of the Nation, Mario Lugones, emphasized the importance of being transparent and honest in public health matters by stating that "with the health of Argentinians, one cannot and should not lie to do politics." Lugones highlighted that they are implementing concrete changes to improve the system, such as the elimination of middlemen profiting from health and ensuring that citizens have access to quality services, with the freedom to choose where to receive care.

The minister denied rumors about cuts in his department and reaffirmed his commitment to reorganizing a health system that was in decline, pointing out that it was necessary to put an end to past practices to improve the efficiency and quality of services. Lugones stressed that it is essential to stop using health as a bargaining chip in politics and called for sincerity on this very sensitive issue for the population.

His statements precede the Federal March in Defense of Public Health, called by unions and leftist groups, where labor demands and criticisms of the healthcare system will be raised. Lugones expressed on social media that they are working to correct existing deficiencies and that unfounded criticisms will not stop their work.

Additionally, the minister noted that it is natural for those affected by the changes to react, but he asserted that these reactions should not have a free pass. He emphasized that his goal is truly to transform the healthcare system to function efficiently and for the benefit of all Argentinians, putting an end to old harmful practices. In this regard, he concluded that "they did not come to do more of the same" and that in politics, there are limits that should not be crossed.
