In the Patagonia region, wildfires have devastated more than 36,000 hectares in the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, and Chubut, causing mass evacuations and significant material losses. Amid this crisis, many people have been separated from their pets, creating a heartbreaking situation.

To lend a hand in the search and reunification of lost animals, Federico Borstelmann, a graphic and web designer from La Plata, in collaboration with programmers Mauro Jeandet and Joaquín Carretero, launched My Pets Patagonia. This free platform is designed for owners to post photos and information about their missing pets, thus facilitating their return home during such a difficult time.

Borstelmann, passionate about animal rescue and adoption, has confirmed that thanks to this application, over 3,000 reunions have been achieved to date. In relation to the emergency in Patagonia, 34 posts of lost pets have been shared, resulting in 14 of them returning to their families.

The platform operates with a geolocation system that allows real-time reporting of lost or rescued animals, offering details about the animal such as size, breed, characteristics, and the option to upload a photograph to facilitate its identification.
