The Deputy Minister of Health of the Nation, Cecilia Loccisano, pointed out that when Javier Milei assumed the presidency, the Argentine healthcare system was in a devastating situation. Loccisano highlighted that since the beginning of her management, there has been a clear roadmap and concrete objectives to reorganize and improve the healthcare system.

"We already did it in the Garrahan and El Cruce hospitals, where after improving processes, we managed to eliminate the deficit and recognize the health personnel of each institution," the minister emphasized. Furthermore, she stressed the need to efficiently manage the resources available in the healthcare system.

"From day one, we took on our responsibility to break with a deficient system that benefited a few at the expense of the majority of Argentines," Loccisano underlined. In this regard, she emphasized the importance of working on the restructuring of the healthcare system to avoid waste of resources and improve care for the population.

The official also mentioned that important decisions have been made, such as not renewing contracts in certain directions of the Ministry of Health, aiming to assemble work teams differently to optimize resource management. The intention to avoid direct purchases from a single supplier and prevent the loss of vaccines and medical supplies, which represent a million-dollar cost to the State, was highlighted.

Additionally, specific cases were emphasized where harmful practices for patients and the State were identified in healthcare institutions, leading to legal actions to correct these situations. Loccisano expressed the importance of caring for both patients and the economic resources allocated to the healthcare system.

Regarding the management of vaccines, the need to efficiently plan vaccination campaigns was highlighted to avoid the destruction of vaccines that represent a significant cost to the State. The importance of transparent and effective management to ensure the proper functioning of the healthcare system in Argentina was stressed.
