A 16-year-old girl reported her high school classmate in Río Negro for digital harassment. The situation took place in a school workshop near the town of Roca, where the young girl told a teacher that she was being harassed on social media by her classmate. The minor's parents filed the complaint after being informed about the harassment.
The teenager reported that her classmate had been sending her messages with sexual content and explicit photographs for some time. The complaint triggered an investigation that resulted in a judicial ruling in favor of the victim. The judge in charge of the case determined that the accused must not share spaces with the young girl, maintaining a minimum distance of 200 meters from her, including her home, the school, and any place she frequents. Additionally, the aggressor was prohibited from any type of contact with the teenager, either in person or through digital means, for a period of 160 days.
Moreover, the magistrate requested the intervention of the Secondary Level Supervision and the Provincial Council of Education to ensure the victim's safety. School authorities are also responsible for implementing specific measures to protect the young girl, according to the Justice of First portal.
