Arrest for Child Abuse in Buenos Aires

A man was arrested in the province of Córdoba under the accusation of sexual abuse of a minor in Buenos Aires. The complaint was filed by the mother of the victim, who indicated that the aggressor was the partner of her sister-in-law.

According to the police report sent to the Argentine News Agency, the complainant explained that the man, with the last name Torrez, abused her 11-year-old daughter on multiple occasions, taking advantage of the moments when the girl was under the care of that family in the province of Buenos Aires.

In light of the complaint, the Public Prosecutor's Office intervened in the case and sent personnel from the DDI of San Isidro to carry out the investigations. It was discovered that the accused had left the residence after the complaint, leading to the organization of an operation to locate him.

After a series of investigations, it was determined that the defendant had fled to Córdoba and was hiding in a house in the Betañan neighborhood. Given this discovery, a search and arrest warrant was obtained. Agents from the Buenos Aires provincial police traveled to Córdoba and managed to capture the aggressor on Tuesday.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Gender Violence Crimes is in charge of the case, and the extradition process is expected to transport the accused to Buenos Aires pending trial.
