In the town of La Matanza, a police officer from the Immediate Tactical Operations Unit (UTOI) was involved in a confrontation with two thieves, a situation that was recorded in a shocking video released on social media by journalist Emmanuel Dalbe. In the video, one of the criminals is seen being shot dead after an exchange of gunfire, while his accomplice flees the scene at high speed, leaving the crime scene behind.
After the incident, the Homicide Prosecutor's Office of La Matanza took action and ordered an examination of the service weapon used by the police officer involved in the shooting. The confrontation took place at the intersection of Crovara and San MartÃn streets when the thieves, riding a motorcycle, attempted to commit a robbery upon noticing the presence of a uniformed police officer performing additional services in the area. The confrontation ended with the death of one of the assailants, while the other was captured later after being involved in a traffic accident.
