A 22-year-old young man, identified as Román Escudero, is fighting for his life in serious condition after being shot by two motorcycle thieves who stole his motorcycle in La Matanza, Buenos Aires province.
The violent episode took place last Tuesday at the intersection of Zufriategui and Guillermo Marcon, in Laferrere. Escudero, who was heading to a friend's house in Isidro Casanova on his motorcycle, noticed he was being chased by two individuals on another bike. When trying to escape, the criminals intercepted him, threatened him with a firearm, and shot him in the abdomen before fleeing with both vehicles.
After the attack, Escudero was left injured on the ground until a nurse passing by the area provided first aid and urgently transported him to the hospital, where he remains hospitalized. As a result of the aggression, the young man suffered the loss of two organs and had to be connected to a ventilator under induced coma.
His mother reported that Román Escudero received blood transfusions and although his condition is stable, he is still connected to the ventilator. Currently, the perpetrators of the violent robbery are at large, while the authorities are analyzing footage from a security camera that captured the sequence in an attempt to identify the criminals.
The case has been taken by the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) No. 1 of the Judicial Department of La Matanza, while the community hopes for justice and clarification of this serious incident.
