Increased Traffic Controls Ahead of Long Weekend

The National Road Safety Agency in Argentina is conducting 53 preventive checks on routes to the Atlantic Coast until November 19, aiming for safer travel and reduced accidents.

Increased Traffic Controls Ahead of Long Weekend

The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) will carry out 53 preventive checkpoints at various strategic points on the way to the Atlantic Coast during the long weekend. This measure will be implemented from this Friday until November 19 and will involve comprehensive operations that include breathalyzer tests and "anti-hawker" procedures.

As part of the last long weekend of the year, the checkpoints will be located in key places such as the Buenos Aires - La Plata highway, RP 2, RP 11, Dock Sud Toll, Quilmes, Villa Gesell, and Pinamar. These joint controls will be coordinated between the national, provincial, and municipal governments with the main goal of ensuring safe circulation to the Atlantic Coast and reducing the traffic accident rate across the country, according to the ANSV.

The controls will be performed by agents from the various bases of the national agency and will be carried out in two modalities: fixed and random. The fixed posts will conduct a total of 29 complete documentation and breathalyzer tests. Additionally, 24 random patrol teams will be deployed to prevent the presence of "hawkers" and provide roadside assistance to drivers who may face setbacks during their journey.

Drivers who violate traffic regulations will be notified and fined according to the corresponding report. However, the ANSV issued some fundamental recommendations for those who are about to undertake a trip, including having the required documents and safety equipment available, such as ID, driver's license, authorized green or blue card, valid insurance, proof of RTO or VTV, visible and in good condition license plates, valid fire extinguishers, and triangular warning signs.
