BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 8 (NA) -- Agüero station on Line D of the subway will reopen to the public this Monday, after completing a renovation process that lasted approximately three months. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the reopening is part of the Comprehensive Station Renovation Plan promoted by Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE), which has already reached fifteen stops on the network.
Improvements at Agüero
The work carried out aimed to improve infrastructure and the travel experience, including:
• Waterproofing: Treatment of leaks and painting was carried out, as well as the placement of metal cladding in critical areas. • Lighting and access: Installation of LED lights, replacement of floors, and renovation of signage for safer circulation. • Heritage and furniture: New benches and trash cans were installed, and two historical murals located on the platforms, under the care of conservation experts, were restored.
Closed stations and upcoming works
While Agüero resumes its activity, SBASE reported that five other stations remain closed due to construction work: Piedras and Congreso (Line A), Uruguay and Malabia (Line B), Plaza Italia (Line D).
The plan will continue shortly with interventions at Tribunales (Line D), Medrano and Ángel Gallardo (Line B), Lavalle and Independencia (Line C), and General Urquiza and Entre Ríos (Line E).
