Buenos Aires, February 6 (NA) — A man was arrested for resisting authority following a traffic incident in the town of General Madariaga, Buenos Aires Province. He was driving with his baby in his arms when he was stopped by traffic police. In response to the detention, he attacked the officers, rammed their official vehicle, and ultimately the police had to apprehend him. Official sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the incident occurred within the framework of the 'Dawn to Dawn' operation. Personnel from the Subsecretariat of Road Safety and Policy detected a Mercedes-Benz van driven by a man from Moreno who had a young girl sitting on his lap without any child restraint system. When the vehicle was pulled over to issue the corresponding fine, the driver and his companion insulted the officers to the point where both — she with the baby in her arms — struck the police car. While waiting for the police, the couple got back into the van and tried to move forward while the official vehicle was still stopped in front, forcing them to quickly swerve to avoid an accident. The officers' backup resulted in the man's arrest for resisting authority.
