From March to November, Buenos Aires will host the ninth season of the 'Jazz Buenos Aires' festival. The event, a collaboration between the Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires and the prestigious Jazz at Lincoln Center, will feature nine concerts with major international jazz artists. The cycle spans contemporary jazz, swing, soul, Afro-Latin rhythms, and the New Orleans tradition. The festival opens on March 17 with the Gerald Clayton Trio, a leading voice in modern jazz blending soul and hard bop influences. On April 21, the Sarah Hanahan Quartet will perform, showcasing one of the most energetic alto saxophonists of a new generation. The program continues on May 26 with the Etienne Charles Creole Quartet, which fuses Caribbean jazz, Afro-Latin rhythms, and New Orleans heritage. On June 30, singer Shenel Johnson will offer an elegant journey through standards and soul with a contemporary perspective. On July 21, the Herlin Riley Quartet will bring classic swing to the stage with one of the most iconic drummers from New Orleans jazz. On October 20, Chilean saxophonist Melissa Aldana, one of the most powerful figures in contemporary tenor saxophone, will star in one of the cycle's most anticipated concerts. The season will close on November 24 with the Christian Sands Quartet, a group that combines piano virtuosity, modern groove, and the spirit of a jam session, putting the finishing touch on a season that strengthens the dialogue between Buenos Aires and the international jazz scene.
