On Wednesday, February 19, a surprising extra holiday will provide a day of rest to a large number of Argentines, allowing them to break the work week. This holiday is celebrated in the town of Indio Rico, in the district of Coronel Pringles, province of Buenos Aires, in commemoration of its founding anniversary.

For municipal and banking employees, the holiday is mandatory, while for other activities it is optional, at the discretion of employers. The next national long weekend in Argentina will be during Carnival in 2025, which will be celebrated in March, on Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th.
