Economist Juan Carlos De Pablo warned about the increase in production costs in dollars and its negative impact on competitiveness. In a radio statement, De Pablo expressed his concern about this trend and recommended aligning deregulation policies in both foreign and domestic trade. He favored the elimination of restrictions that affect both imports and local production, synchronizing both activities.
In this regard, De Pablo criticized the founding of companies due to excessive taxes or compensations, highlighting the importance of a more balanced regulatory environment. Regarding the exchange rate, the economist rejected the term "exchange rate lag," arguing that what is truly concerning is the increase in production costs in dollars.
He also referred to President Javier Milei's announcement to reduce the monthly crawling peg to 1% in case of continued inflationary deceleration, stating that decisions should not be made based on expectations of devaluation, as if these do not materialize, the consequences would be harmful.
