The Presidente Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline experienced serious delays and poor management that resulted in multimillion-dollar losses for the country. The construction of the first section was completed in July 2023, coinciding with the electoral campaign and a more symbolic than functional inauguration.
Upon taking office, President Milei found an incomplete project that forced the government to import fuel, which represented a significant economic impact. The project, announced in 2019, faced delays and technical challenges during the previous administration.
Under the new administration, the pending debts were resolved, and the Gas Pipeline was fully completed. It is currently operational, transporting 24 million cubic meters daily, thanks to the completion of the compressor stations in Tratayén and Salliqueló in July and October, respectively. This completion allowed for a considerable saving of 350 million dollars in terms of non-imported fuel, positively impacting the country's economy.
