The pilots of Aerolíneas Argentinas, grouped in the Association of Airline Pilots (APLA), have warned that due to the conflict they are having with the company over salary restructuring claims, the continuity of flights during December may not be guaranteed. In a statement recently published, the pilots express their concern about the company's lack of response to their demands, highlighting that the lack of qualified pilots has led to the cancellation of several operations.
The statement emphasizes that despite more than two months of lack of dialogue and the absence of salary adjustments since May 2024, the situation has become unsustainable for the pilots, whose salaries continue to deteriorate. It is also mentioned that alternative measures have been implemented, such as actions at CEFEPRA and the dissemination of the conflict at airports, aimed at pressuring the company to respond to their claims.
The pilots point out that the lack of adequate strategic planning by the management of Aerolíneas Argentinas, whom they accuse of treating certain members of the company disparagingly, is contributing to the current crisis. It is highlighted that the situation is extremely complex, with colleagues being suspended and sanctioned, which has led the union to consider intensifying the measures of force if they do not receive satisfactory responses from the airline's management.
In the midst of this tense context, the pilots underline the need for both workers and the general public to be informed about the current situation of Aerolíneas Argentinas. They warn that if the conflict is not resolved, operations during the month of December could be affected, which would impact both employees and passengers.
