During the Argentina Texas Energy Summit, the president of YPF, Horacio Marín, expressed the ambition to export 120 million cubic meters of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). He highlighted the importance of this goal to transform YPF into a large-scale company and Argentina into an exporting country.
In the context of his statements, Marín also mentioned that in 2027 the construction of the largest gas pipeline in the country will take place, aiming to support the projected LNG demand for that year. He emphasized that the LNG project is not exclusive to YPF but involves the entire energy sector industry.
For his part, Marcos Bulgheroni, CEO of PAE, emphasized that access to Argentine gas in international markets through a floating liquefaction vessel marks a significant milestone on Argentina's path to exporting, generating foreign currency for the country. Bulgheroni revealed that they are currently in negotiations with YPF and other companies in the sector to expand export operations.
Additionally, it was reported that Marcelo Mindlin, owner of Pampa Energía, is evaluating the possibility of building a new LNG plant to take advantage of incentives aimed at large investments and contribute to boosting gas exports. Marín projects that YPF will quadruple its value in the next four years and that Argentina will achieve exports of US$ 30 billion by 2031, especially driven by the development of the Vaca Muerta field.
The president of YPF also pointed out the importance of opening new markets for Argentine gas, with particular interest in countries like Germany, Turkey, Italy, Hungary, and India. He emphasized that to achieve these goals, it will be essential to double the production of oil and gas in Argentina.
