Argentina Increases Passport Fees

Argentina has announced an increase in passport and travel document fees nationwide. The new rates will take effect on March 6, 2026. This decision was published in Official Bulletin No. 106/2026 and signed by RENAPER's director, Diego Sebastián Pérez Lorgueilleux. The price hike affects all passport types, including regular, express, and immediate resolution, as well as documents for stateless persons, refugees, and foreigners. A regular passport (standard delivery) will cost 100,000 pesos. An express passport will be 200,000 pesos (including the 100,000 pesos standard fee plus a 100,000 pesos surcharge). An immediate resolution passport will cost 330,000 pesos (100,000 pesos standard + 230,000 pesos surcharge). Special passports for foreigners and travel documents for stateless persons and refugees will also cost 100,000 pesos each. Notably, reprints for formal errors detected within 90 days of delivery will be free, provided the error can be proven with the original documentation. RENAPER stated that the fee revision is necessary to maintain technological and security standards on par with other regional countries. This measure also aligns with several laws and regulatory decrees. The new rules supersede those that came into force on February 26, 2025. The complete fee schedule is available in the digital edition of the Official Bulletin.
