Entities from the agro-export and port sectors highlighted the progress in the bidding process for the Trunk Navigable Waterway of the Paraguay-Paraná River and reaffirmed their willingness to collaborate for the initiative to successfully conclude. The Trunk Navigable Waterway constitutes a strategic infrastructure for the country's productive development, through which most of Argentina's foreign trade is channeled, with a direct impact on systemic competitiveness, logistics costs, and international insertion. During 2025, a technical and participatory work process was developed through tables convened by the National Ports and Navigation Agency (ANPyN), with representation from the public and private sectors, and a formal call for bid consultation. According to a statement accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), these instances allowed addressing aspects related to the technical, environmental, economic, and regulatory conditions of the new concession scheme. In this context, the entities highlighted the technical support of the United Nations' UNCTAD, which provided international standards and best practices for the preparation of the bidding documents. Likewise, they emphasized the start of the process of forming the Control Council of the Trunk Navigable Waterway and considered that the institutionalization of a monitoring and control body, with technical participation and plural representation, must ensure transparency, permanent monitoring, and public-private dialogue in the stage that opens. The deadline for submitting proposals in the current tender is February 27, a date that marks the beginning of a new era for the logistics of Argentina's foreign trade. The document was signed by the Rosario Stock Exchange; the Chamber of the Oilseed Industry of the Argentine Republic – Cereals Exporters Center (CIARA–CEC); the Chamber of Private Commercial Ports and the Chamber of Port and Maritime Activities.
