Argentina Government Announces Tender for 2,500 km of Roads

The national government has called a public tender to concession another 2,500 kilometers of national routes, advancing the privatization process through Resolution 112/2026, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette.

The call to participate in the tender is aimed at national and international companies that seek to undertake the construction, operation, administration, repair, expansion, conservation, maintenance, provision of user services, and the carrying out of new complementary or collateral exploitations that allow for additional income under the public works concession regime for tolls.

The roadways to be concessioned are grouped into the Mediterranean, Puntano, Southern Port, and Northern Port sections of the “Federal Concession Network - Stage II-B,” which include more than 2,500 kilometers of key routes in the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Santa Fe, Córdoba, and San Luis.

The tender will be divided into four sections:

  • Mediterranean: 672 km, connecting the country's productive hub, improving logistics and regional competitiveness.
  • Puntano: 720 km, a key corridor for integration between provinces and long-distance cargo transport.
  • Southern Port: 637 km, linking strategic access points to ports and logistics nodes, fundamental for exports and regional economies.
  • Northern Port: 528 km, improving connectivity with the main industrial and port poles of the country's central region.

The call for the tender had been anticipated by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, through his official X account, in which he specified that the Executive would formally announce the call this Wednesday.

While highlighting the new sections to be concessioned, the head of the economic portfolio stated that “these works, which will be developed on national routes 7, 8, 9, 12, 33, 35, 36, 188, 193, A005, and A008, are part of a scheme that replaces a deficitary model with one without subsidies, with more transparency, competition, and efficiency in road management.”

In this sense, he emphasized that “we continue to work to have a more modern road infrastructure and better roads, encouraging private investment while at the same time caring for the resources of Argentines.”

Interested companies will be able to submit their offers on the CONTRAT.AR platform until May 7, 2026, at 12:00, while on the same day the opening of bids will take place at the same site.
