Power Outages on Sarmiento and Roca Lines in Buenos Aires

Trenes Argentinos has announced a special operating scheme for the Sarmiento and Roca lines due to infrastructure works under the State of Emergency for Railways decreed by the National Government. The Sarmiento line will not reach the Once terminal this Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 February. The power outage is necessary for a comprehensive renovation of the signaling and the laying of trunk cables between Villa Luro and Liniers, as well as interventions at the underpasses on Lorca and Yrigoyen streets. Sarmiento schedule: Saturday 7 (until 10:00 hs): Trains run with limited service between Moreno and Liniers. From Saturday at 10:00 hs until Sunday 8 (until 18:00 hs): The service is further reduced, running only between Moreno and Haedo. As for the Roca line, its service will also be affected on Sunday 8 February. Due to structural renovation works on the tracks in the Hudson station area, the electrical service will be interrupted on the final stretch. Trains will run with a limited route between Plaza Constitución and Berazategui. The works include the use of heavy machinery to replace wooden sleepers with concrete and to change the ballast under a plan covering 13.5 kilometers of the branch. The state company also announced that this same restriction (limited service to Berazategui) will be repeated during the long Carnival weekend.
