Argentina and US Sign Trade and Investment Agreement

Argentina and the US signed a reciprocal trade and investment agreement aimed at reducing tariffs and eliminating barriers in key sectors such as technology, energy, and agriculture.

Argentina and the United States signed a Reciprocal Trade and Investment Agreement on Thursday in Washington. The document was signed by Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral trade and encourage capital inflows. It provides for tariff reductions and the elimination of regulatory barriers, especially in technology, energy, mining, beef, and agricultural products.

"We have just left the signing of the Reciprocal Trade and Investment Agreement between Argentina and the United States. Congratulations to our team and thanks to the team of the U.S. Trade Representative for building this great agreement together," Quirno wrote on social media.

"Argentina will be prosperous!" he added.

Key points of the agreement include tariff reductions, simplification of sanitary procedures for agricultural products, investment incentives for critical minerals, recognition of the U.S. as a suitable jurisdiction for digital data transfers, strengthened intellectual property protection, and a ban on imports made with forced labor.
