The Ministry of Economy announced significant changes to the National Tax Lottery, aimed at expanding citizen participation, strengthening territorial equity, and modernizing the program. 'The intention is for citizens to be able to participate from their own provinces and have more chances of winning,' explained the undersecretary, noting that this decision responds to concerns and suggestions raised by the public during the pilot phase. The Ministry of Economy is calling on citizens to gather and submit their receipts within the established deadline. To this end, the country will be divided into four regions, grouping the ten provinces, allowing for monthly provincial draws. Amado reiterated that one of the main adjustments will be the transition from the national model to a regional scheme, which will be implemented starting from the fifth draw. Currently, the Ministry is finalizing the legal documents, decrees, and resolutions necessary to formalize these changes, the details of which will be announced soon. Likewise, the MEF has advanced that it is working on a third stage of the program's evolution, focused on the digitalization of the Tax Lottery. The fourth Tax Lottery draw will be held on February 26, 2026, at Soho Mall. This measure will increase the chances of winning and ensure greater representation of the country's interior. In this draw, invoices issued between December 31, 2025, and February 19, 2026, will be eligible. The objective is to progressively migrate to an electronic system that allows participation from home, reduces in-person procedures, and eliminates bureaucratic processes.
