Argentina's Trade Surplus Reaches US$11.286 Billion in 2025

In December 2025, Argentina's foreign trade volume grew by 4.7% to US$13.004 billion. Exports increased by 5.7% and imports by 3.5%. The country's trade balance showed a surplus of US$1.892 billion, marking the 25th consecutive month of a positive result. The annual surplus totaled US$11.286 billion.

According to data from Argentina's National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), released by the Argentine News Agency, the country's foreign trade volume increased by 4.7% in December 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching a total of US$13.004 billion. This growth was driven by a rise in both exports and imports, by 5.7% and 3.5%, respectively. Exports totaled US$7.448 billion, while imports reached US$5.556 billion. As a result, Argentina's trade balance showed a surplus of US$1.892 billion, marking the 25th consecutive month of a positive result. For the full year of 2025, Argentina recorded a trade surplus of US$11.286 billion. The increase in exports was fueled by a 6.2% rise in the volume of goods shipped, even as prices decreased by 0.5%. Imports grew by 3.5%, driven by a 3% increase in volumes and a 0.4% rise in prices. The terms of trade index fell by 0.9%, reflecting a deterioration in the relative prices of foreign trade goods. Among its main trading partners, the United States and India recorded the largest surpluses, while China, Brazil, and the European Union posted deficits. Specifically, the US had a surplus of US$456 million, and India had a surplus of US$346 million. In contrast, China had a deficit of US$761 million, the EU had a deficit of US$306 million, and Brazil had a deficit of US$131 million.
