Milk production in Argentina reached 11.618 billion liters in 2025, marking the highest volume for the decade in the dairy sector and the second highest in history. This was reported by the National Dairy Directorate of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing. The government body revealed that compared to 2024, there was a year-on-year growth of 9.7%, confirming a positive and sustained trend in primary production. Likewise, it was highlighted that “in terms of daily production, this increase represents a growth of nearly 10% in liters produced, which reinforces the strength of the observed growth”. By highlighting the good performance, state authorities valued the innovation work being carried out in the sector by stating that “these results reflect the impact of the modernization process that the Argentine dairy chain is going through”. In this regard, they pointed out that the sector's progress is “driven by the incorporation of technology, improvements in management systems, the adoption of good production practices, and the strengthening of articulated work between the public and private sectors, with the effort of producers and the industry”. In this sense, the data provided shows that since the launch of production value credits, more than $20,000 billion have been allocated to the dairy sector through BICE, which has enabled a 20% increase in rotational systems and more than 30% in milking robots. Additionally, the report highlighted that “favorable climatic conditions, positive profitability for the dairy sector, and growth in exports between January-November 2025 of 13% year-on-year with 2.775 billion liters of milk, were other indicators that contributed to the growth mentioned”. With this panorama, the Directorate stated that “the Argentine dairy sector thus consolidates its strategic role within the agro-industrial fabric, projecting itself as a sector with the capacity to generate employment, added value, and territorial development, and with a growing positioning in national and international markets”.
