The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires has implemented a preventive measure with the aim of facilitating vehicular flow and preventing traffic accidents on tourist routes. In this context, as reported by the Argentine News Agency, the body headed by Minister Gabriel Katopodis decided through the Provincial Directorate of Viality to limit the circulation of trucks with a gross weight of more than seven tons. The restriction is in place for the biweekly tourist shift. Authorities have specified the days, times, and directions in which truck traffic will be prohibited. These measures will affect several key highways and provincial roads, including the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway, Autovía 2, and other routes leading to the Atlantic coast. Certain categories of vehicles are exempt from the restriction, including trucks for transporting milk, live animals, medicines, fuel, as well as emergency and breakdown services.
