The Paraguayan company Kaizen Energy S.A.E.C.A., specialized in renewable energy solutions, has begun its international expansion process with strategic investments in Argentina. The company is advancing the expansion of the Photovoltaic Solar Park in the city of Cutral Co, in the province of Neuquén. This expansion will allow the project to be scaled up, strengthen the local energy infrastructure, and generate new economic opportunities. Claudio Escobar, CEO of Kaizen Energy, stated that “The investment responds to an internationalization strategy, aimed at taking capital, technology, and Paraguayan know-how to markets with high energy potential.” There is a strong interest from private capital in the growth of investments in solar parks in many provinces of Argentina. A sector that is generating millions of dollars in investment. Of course, there is a key project led by YPF in the province of Mendoza. YPF Luz's El Quemado project is driven by the regulatory framework of the Large Investments Incentive Regime (RIGI), energy storage auctions, and fundamentally, by the interest in diversifying the energy matrix to attract private capital for large-scale projects and battery storage to ensure a continuous supply. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, sources from the oil company reported that “Once completed, the solar park will generate energy equivalent to the consumption of more than 233,000 Argentine homes.” Not only Mendoza is showing this interest, but provinces like San Juan, Formosa, and Buenos Aires are also recording significant investments. The explosion of interest from private capital in these energy facilities is so intense that in the province of Formosa, under the Peronist governor Gilsdo Insfrán, more than USD 192 million have entered that the private sector will invest in solar parks distributed in eight localities, with a total projected installed capacity of 217 MW. Formosa was in the past a provincial territory considered peripheral in the national electricity system; today it seeks to position itself as a key hub for clean energy in the NEA. In the province of Buenos Aires, governed by another staunch opponent of the libertarian administration, such as Axel Kicillof, the construction of 5 new solar parks in the municipalities of Coronel Rosales and San Cayetano is advancing, incorporating lithium battery storage systems to cover nighttime demand. In the province of San Juan, two solar parks (San Fernando and San Roberto) are being built with an investment of US$ 50 million, using bifacial panels and trackers to increase efficiency. Solar trackers, also known as solar followers, are mechanical or electronic systems that adjust the orientation of the solar panels to keep them perpendicular to the sun's rays. This is achieved through the use of sensors that detect the position of the sun and motors that move the panels accordingly. In La Rioja, the Arauco Wind Park will incorporate a 50 MW solar plant, creating a hybrid solar-wind park. And now, a new investment has been announced in the province of Neuquén. The project was formalized through the signing of a letter of commitment between the Municipality of Cutral Co and Kaizen Energy, supervised by CAMMESA and representatives of the National State, which enables the development of a private initiative to expand the solar park's installed capacity up to 30 megawatts, which would be added to the city's existing energy infrastructure. The Neuquén city of Cutral Co already has an operational 3.1 MW solar park, authorized to commercialize energy in Argentina's Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM). “It will generate a lot of talk and will be very beneficial for the citizens of the Patagonian region,” Escobar assured.
