The province of Buenos Aires is implementing a major infrastructure plan to renew over 600 kilometers of roads. The project aims to strengthen road safety and improve daily traffic flow, especially during the summer vacation season. Currently, 146 kilometers of roads have been completed, with another 140 kilometers under construction. A key artery is the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway, the main route connecting the city of La Plata with the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Works are concentrated on strategic corridors that serve as main access routes to tourist destinations, enabling smoother and safer travel during high-demand periods. Provincial Route 63 connects Route 2 in Dolores with Route 11 in Esquina de Crotto. Additionally, 30.5 kilometers on Route 63, which links Dolores with Esquina de Crotto, have been opened to traffic. Route 2 is the main corridor connecting the City of Buenos Aires with the Atlantic Coast of Buenos Aires. In total, the provincial public works plan for roads in 2026 stipulates improvements to 627.2 kilometers. These projects form part of 14 fronts involving 19 municipalities and include repaving, improvements to road surfaces, signage, lighting, and sidewalk conditioning to reduce accidents and optimize travel. In this context, one of Argentina's most important provinces is launching a major road infrastructure plan that aims to renew more than 600 kilometers of roads to strengthen road safety and improve circulation, especially during the summer vacation season, as some works are already complete and the roads are traversed by hundreds of thousands of vehicles on their way to the long-awaited holidays.
