Buenos Aires Government Repaves Key Agricultural Road

In the province of Buenos Aires, the government of Axel Kicillof is advancing with the repaving of a trunk route for agribusiness production. This is Provincial Route No. 51, on which work is being carried out in the Tapalqué district. It is a key project for road safety, production, and connectivity.

The tasks include: repaving of the roadway, widening of the road, stabilization works with cement and asphalt, improvements to the shoulders, and maintenance and upgrading of culverts and bridges.

From the perspective of road safety, the intervention is fundamental due to the high traffic flow that circulates daily through this corridor, where nearly 4,500 vehicles, including trucks and light traffic, pass, which made a structural improvement essential to reduce risks, optimize travel times, and guarantee safe traffic conditions.

Provincial Route No. 51 is a strategic axis that runs through the province from north to south and plays a central role in the transport of production, as it connects agro-industrial zones with the ports of Rosario and Engineer White in Bahía Blanca, strengthening logistics, employment, and regional competitiveness.

The work is in charge of the Directorate of Roads of the Province of Buenos Aires, an agency dependent on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, led by Gabriel Katopodis, and is part of a policy of investment in road infrastructure, aimed at improving territorial integration, supporting productive growth, and ensuring safe mobility.

Tapalqué is located on Provincial Route No. 51 between the districts of General Alvear and Azul, 300 kilometers from the City of Buenos Aires, with direct access to national routes 3, 205, and 226.

According to the Argentine News Agency, the economic injection will be $14.7 billion. Kicillof seeks to complete a significant road work for traffic in the Conurbano.

Regarding the tasks, they are being developed over 27.2 kilometers with the objective of improving vehicle circulation and strengthening the strategic corridor for the transport of productive goods in Buenos Aires province. The works on provincial route 51 also focus on stabilization with cement and asphalt and on improvements to the shoulders, among others.
