Argentina Government Signs Contracts for Federal Road Concessions

The National Government of Argentina has signed contracts to enable the possession, administration, and maintenance of Stage I of the Federal Concessions Network (RFC), which covers 741 kilometers of national routes. According to the Ministry of Economy, led by Luis Caputo, this includes the Eastern Section and the Connection Section, which are part of the Mercosur corridor. The concession for the Eastern Section was awarded to the company Autovía Construcciones y Servicios, while the Connection Section will be managed by a Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) composed of Obring, Rovial, Edeca, Pitón, and Pietroboni. These routes, which include national routes 12, 14, 135, A015, and 117, traverse the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, and Corrientes. They are intended to "facilitate" trade with Brazil and Uruguay and connect "strategic" border crossings. The project also includes the Rosario-Victoria Bridge over the Paraná River, near the access to ports and productive centers of the Greater Rosario. The official stated that this will "boost exports and logistics." Starting Wednesday, January 7, the winning companies will begin management. In November, the libertarian administration had opened the bids for Stage I, which was launched in January 2025 and closed on August 5 of that year.
